Extra fees for shopping on Aliexpress?

Since some days my card was charged more than i was shopping. I am shopping many times at Aliexpress and I always paid what was shown as total price on Ali. But now its different. Does payoneer changed the rules?

Example:

Bought item $ 8.96 ---> card was charged $9.12
Bought item $ 2.79 ---> card was charged $2.84
Bought item $ 12.75 ---> card was charged $12.98
etc.

My last 15 transactions is like that. Up to 20cent fees for what?

Even the payoneer chat is not working. Saying 6am-6pm but I cant confirm that.

I hope there is anybody who cares. Check my email to contact me please.

Cheers...

    Hello Rakeem, from my experience I believe what you are facing is something called a cross border fee.
    If the credit, debit or prepaid card the consumer uses was issued in a country other than where the merchant is based, he or she may have to pay cross border fees In our case, our cards are issued in Belieze, Gibraltar and the United States depending on the program of the card and the coutnry you are residing in.

    The fee is usually the same for when performing a transaction in a different currency and it can go as high as 3.5% This is not something that the average consumer comes across as most of the services they are seeking are usually locally based, so these fees are non existant for them.
    As busiensses expand on the international level, cross border fees will become more common just like currency conversion (unforetunately).

    Happy and willing to answer general questions.

    Hi, please note - these fees are the Mastercard fees, and not the Payoneer fee. Where Payoneer particularly benefits is from an annual or monthly fee. Thanks!
