2Checkout Cross Border Fee with Global Payment Service

Hello, I dont know if this question fits in here or not.
2checkout (payment gateway)states that they will charge 1.5% for any purchase that takes place in ur website/online store (as cross border fee). Now my question is , if I add payoneer Intl Debit card to 2checkout gateway, how can they charge that amount. Since we get a US Virtual account thru US Payment Service, we can treat that as our Merchant account. IF SO, when a buyer purchases smething in my store, they will pay in USD, I will receive in USD, my merchant account (thru US payment service) is in USD, hence there is NO Cross-border issue here. IF my Merchant account were in my local area/local bank, then they wud charge cross-border fee justifiably. How can they charge 1.5% for each transaction that takes place in my online store? Cross border fee only applies when the issuing bank for the credit card is located in a different country from your merchant account. In this case, my merchant account is supposed to be in USA ( thru US Payment gateway service). Am I wrong here ..

    Hi there,

Before we delve into the details, remember that 2Checkout (2CO) offers a direct payout solution through Payoneer. You can connect your 2CO with an existing Payoneer account or apply for a brand new one if you have not set one up. This means that in this case you do not need to utilize Payoneer's global payment service details to receive payments from 2CO.

The simplest way of breaking down the service (and fees) is by dividing it up into two categories: Receiving and accessing your payments.

Receiving payments in this case would be how you collect your pay through 2CO which includes loading the money to your Payoneer account. I am not aware of any cross-border fees that apply with 2CO platform specifically, but I can tell you that there is a flat fee for transferring funds from 2CO to Payoneer. Any funds transferred from 2CO to Payoneer will be done in the USD or EURO currency depending on the payout preference or account type you have with 2CO.

Any questions regarding 2CO specifically other than transfering funds to your Payoneer account I would recommend you direct to 2CO forums or their support page to get the best and most accurate answers to your inquiries.

As for Accessing your payments, this is where Payoneer comes into play. There are two primary ways for you to access your pay physically through Payoneer, this includes the reloadable prepaid MasterCard and the bank withdraw services. Depending on what is more convenient or cost effective for you, you can utilize either one or both methods for accessing your pay.

Another added benefit with Payoneer is that if you are working with contractors or suppliers, you can transfer funds to them through Payoneer at no cost. If they do not have a Payoneer account, they can apply for an account so you can transfer the funds in USD or Euro without much hassle.

Happy and willing to answer general questions.
