How to receive payments in case the billing service is not yet available

I opened an account 2 days ago. I'm a UK citizen but I live in Thailand and it's connected to a Thai bank account. I don't have the option to request a payment from the receive dropdown menu. I don't know if this is due to my location or specific to my account, and I don't know how I can even get a response from a human via support.

The autoresponse I got said:

If the Request a Payment option is not displayed under the Receive tab in your online account, you will need to begin receiving payments via the Global Payment Service or from one of our mass payout partners before the option to Request a Payment becomes available.

What does 'before the option to Request a Payment becomes available' mean? It doesn't explain what is preventing it from being available nor if/when it will change.

Thanks in advance.

    Dear Payoneer / Community,

We signed up for payoneer, simple because of this:

Quote from Payoneer website "Whether you are a business owner, professional or freelance consultant, you need a quick and easy method for your clients and customers to pay you. The Payoneer Billing Service makes it easy both for you to send a payment request and for them to pay you safely and securely using their bank account, direct debit or card. In short, it’s a great way to get paid by your global clients!"

Today I noticed that my account don't have the option 'Request Payment' I was on a 40 min wait time on Live chat and finally the agent told me 'We made some changes' You will be able to receive funds only using the Global Payment Service or if the company that pays you is a Payoneer Mass payout partner and you receive $5000 in total.

    Seriously Payoneer??

    1. I cannot use the Global Payment Service, since it's only for US Companies. I'm making commission by promoting affiliate links for some companies. Most of them are located in South America and where I live. They are not in the USA. So They cannot pay me using the Global Payment Service. Also they are also not a
    Payoneer Mass payout partner.

It was simple for me (as a 1 year old customer) I login my account, I send an invoice when the companies need to pay me, and they pay me using the link they get in the email. Easy as that.

As a small business owner, I started designing logo's and also used the invoice option so my customers can pay me. Just like you promote on your website.

How can I use my account now?? What options do I have? My whole Caribbean and South America affiliate money that I earn cannot be paid anymore, simple because they are not US Companies.

Can you let me know how I can request a payment now? or How else I can be paid by South America and Caribbean companies that are not your Mass payout partner.

And why don't you add that information on your website, since "In short, it’s a great way to get paid by your global clients!" is not true anymore. Better would be: It’s a great way to get paid by US Companies and Payoneer Mass Payout companies only.

I checked with my some other colleagues and they also don't have the request payment option anymore.

The issue is not the $5000, because in a year every month by selling more maybe I can reach that. The
issue is how can we reach the $5000 if I can't even request a payment?? The button is now totally gone!

I am asking the Question can a person work independently. Like working through his own website where people come and get services. And expert get payment for his services (promoted through his own website) and receive payment via payoneer billing service

Hi Dan, sorry for the delay. Post notifications was not on. Thanks for your reply!

Most of them are here in Suriname, Some in Aruba. I have signed up as an affiliate for companies that offer web-design, hosting , domains etc. here in Suriname.

When I sent my mailing list and promote their business and I get sign-ups, I can see my affiliate commission in my account. When it's +- $100, I request a payment.

Most of my advertising are from mailing list and B2B. When I tell them to signup, I send them my affiliate link. Now I have reached my $100 but I cannot send a request to get my money, since the company is not US based. They use to pay me with the link I sent them. How can I request a payment now?

Would you like me to sent the affiliate website? I don't want to put their name here without permission, can I sent you a pm? and how can I do that.

The Billing Service allows you to receive payments from individual clients and my not be available upon account registration.
Payoneer offers a number of ways to receive payments, including the ability to receive payments from online marketplaces that pay directly through Payoneer. If you plan to work with individual clients, consider doing so through these marketplaces in order to collect your payments.

You can see some of the mentioned companies Payoneer works with on the website at www,Payoneer.com under the "Customers" tab.

Agreed, this is so disappointing. I was about to request my first payment through Payoneer only to realize it is impossible. How will I ever reach $5000 in payments without the ability to request payment myself?

Do you think most freelancers have fixed work and contracts with companies abroad? Well, sometimes, but speaking for myself and many other freelancers I know, we work as individuals, marketing our services and getting clients from their friends, peers and social networks.

If you need some kind of security measure or whatever (I don't know why you decided on this new policy) consider at least reducing it. Even $1000 is much for me, starting out as a freelancer and in a third-world country. (Ouch, it does sound kind of sad)

Perhaps you only need the US as your clients. Then, as @marcacer said, remarket your service or consider shutting the rest of us out completely to avoid miscommunication and future disappointments.

Hi @deboraesc you have the same issue??

    >>How will I ever reach $5000 in payments without the ability to request payment myself? >>

Exactly my issue! how will we reach that if the Request Payment is disabled?? Can someone please explain? and NO Global Payments is not working, since we do not work for US Companies.

The website text is misleading. Don't use "makes it easy both for you to send a payment request and for them to pay you safely and securely using their bank account, direct debit or card. In short, it’s a great way to get paid by your global clients!" So not true.

Change it to: Makes it easy if your customer are only in the USA as per our new Policy.

@Cristale_Payoneer this is not true. "Payoneer offers a number of ways to receive payments" Can you provide me 1 (yes 1) method how I can request a payment from a company that is NOT in the USA?

This is my business model, I sell/promote internet marketing solutions. When a customer signs up I get commission. Now when it's time to get paid, I send a "request payment" to the company and they pay me out. Or when I need to bill customers, I was able to use the send invoice option in my payoneer account.

Both are now gone! How can I request a payment for my services if the companies I work with are not in the USA (Since GlobalPayment is only for USA Companies) and the request a payment option is not working anymore.

I signed up because this is what you advertise " Whether you are a business owner, professional or freelance consultant, you need a quick and easy method for your clients and customers to pay you. The Payoneer Billing Service makes it easy both for you to send a payment request and for them to pay you safely and securely using their bank account, direct debit or card. In short, it’s a great way to get paid by your global clients!"

Memo, this is what it's used to be. Not anymore. Still I hope you can give me a solution how I can request a payment now from companies that are not in the USA.

Thankfully I wasn't a long time user of Payoneer like you, otherwise, I would be much more upset than I am from getting this explanation.

    >>Exactly my issue! how will we reach that if the Request Payment is disabled?? Can someone please explain? and NO Global Payments is not working, since we do not work for US Companies.<<
We will have to earn this amount through Payoneer's mass payout partners.

This means we can get paid by working with companies which pay through Payoneer, and not from individuals. From my personal experience, I only have a contract with one such company, who rarely sends me work and it doesn't cost much, so I will never reach the $5000. Plus, I'm wanting to be able to charge as an individual freelancer working with other individuals in other countries, not to keep working for companies abroad.

    @deboraesc @marcacer @Josh88

If you wish to get paid from freelancers located in Europe, you can do so by providing your EU payment details to your client. The details can be found on your online account under the menu “receive”, choose “Global Payment Details”, then choose the EUR payment details.

    Another option would be to get paid by an affiliate, freelancer or developer platform;
Payoneer works in partnership with thousands of companies meaning that those companies offer Payoneer as a payment option. They can be directly linked to Payoneer for the funds to be directly transferred to your account as soon as you transfer it from the company.
This option can be relevant if you work as an online seller, freelancer, or if you work in online advertising. you can read more about how to get paid via the following blog.

Of course, Payoneer offers the option to receive payments from Ewallets and payment gateways. It can be done by linking an Ewallet you collect your funds from or any payment gateways to your Payoneer account and direct your payments to Payoneer.

    Hi @Cristale_Payoneer

    >>If you wish to get paid from freelancers located in Europe, >>
I'm paid from South America and The Caribbean, not from US and EUROPE.

Another option would be to get paid by an affiliate Payoneer works in partnership with thousands of companies >> With all respect, there are another billion companies payoneer does not work with. Can you provide me sign up link for companies maybe I can ask them to sign up with Payoneer, since there is no other option to get paid if the company does not work with payoneer.

I emailed several the companies that I used to get commission from and they basically told me I need to send a payment request.

    >>Of course, Payoneer offers the option to receive payments from Ewallets and payment gateways>>
As explained I need to be paid directly by the companies. not by a wallet and a gateway is when you have a website, (or when you are a company with a website) not when you are getting commissions as a sales affiliate.

    >>If you wish to get paid from freelancers located in Europe<<
No I don't, I wish to get paid from South America (and possibly USA).

    >>Another option would be to get paid by an affiliate, freelancer or developer platform<<
Nope. Excuse me, but I've already mentioned I'm a freelancer working independently, providing services to independent people. Why is this so hard to understand? To make it clearer, I'm a translator needing to request payment for translating a document for an independent person living in Ecuador (as I've mentioned during chat support).

    >>Of course, Payoneer offers the option to receive payments from Ewallets and payment gateways.<<
Use PayPal to use Payoneer? That doesn't make sense for me. Buy a domain, set up a site, pay for hosting, security, etc, to have a payment gateway? Such hassels.

    >>There are invoicing and time tracking companies that are compatible with our services.<<
I'm sorry, but I didn't quite understand this part. I followed the link and don't understand all those add-ons. There are too many of them, for starters. I tried one, which was in Hebrew, so I couldn't understand. Another one seemed more understandable but I can't find quick information on their cost. Is there an extra cost for this? I bet so.

Unfortunately Payoneer has made it hard for us to use it, requiring lots of intermediaries. If I have to sift through a huge list of invoicing add-ons to find which is best, easier, safer, cost friendly, I'll just use PayPal which has the same feature built-in and is easier, being one platform for all, and feels safer than Payoneer (which might just change policies with major implications at ease), even if it was initially more expensive.

I'm sorry, I know you've tried to help, but I still can't see a good solution for me as a user. I have indeed sent my invoice via PayPal already. I hope Payoneer reconsiders or changes its model again in the future.
    Regards

I joined Payoneer as one client wants to pay me through it. The first time everything went fine, but now needing to invoice them again - the option to request payment has disappeared?

Why so, everything else seems fine, including my ID verification & linked bank account.

I emailed support, but never heard back & the live chat support always has a waiting time of over an hour.

I totally agree with you guys @deboraesc @marcacer . This "We made some changes" really disapointed disappointed me. I am a freelancer, i need to make "Request a payment" for create an invoice to be able pay me.

My college who is using payoneer at least 1 year can make "Request a payment" without wait until I reach 5.000 USD using global payment. How can i get 5.000 USD using global payment :((.

I'm sorry, but i think this is a bad move from you Payoneer. Same with other member above, I hope this policy can be rollinh back again.

it is 2020 and i think they still didn't fix that
this is may be the worst thing for freelancers that work around asia and africa specially if you were used to the old just simply requesting and getting paic. i think payoneer is more like only for US now because not everybody works for US companies and so we can't use the global payment service
may be it is time to leave and go for other payment methods like paypal or something else as they are easier and doesn't have those kind of shitty rules ... i mean 5,000?! seriously?
