ATM has placed a temporary hold for the indicated amount.

Hello
This morning I tried to withdraw some cash using my Payoneer card from a local ATM (in Nepal through Himalayan Bank). The amount I tried to withdraw was $100 (USD). Initially it looked like the ATM was about to give me the cash (I could even hear when the ATM was counting the bills), but in the last moment the ATM just stopped and I DIDN'T RECEIVE MY MONEY. The screen said "Host is busy. Please try again later". But I was worried and checked my payoneer account and it happens that under my transactions tab, I see that Transaction as an Upcoming one and see this message "HIMALAYAN DILLIBZAR B has placed a temporary hold for the indicated amount. Your card will be charged once the transaction is settled." I couldn't contacted the local bank since it public holiday. I am freaking out. Please help. What am I suppose to do? Will the money will be refunded? Thank you

    Hi there,

    This process is called pre-authorization. What happens is that the funds are temporarily held by the merchant as a means to allow them to confirm the transaction on our end. Since the transaction was not successful on their end (funds didn't dispense), you would receive the funds back when the hold expires. Typically, it will take 9 working days for the pre authorization hold to expire, to which it would happen automatically. So you'll get your funds back, but will take a while.

    Hi @KazPayoneer . Today I tried to withdraw $220 from a local ATM in Macedonia. The transaction was unsuccessful and I didn't receive money. When I checked the amount on my payoneer account I saw that the merchant has put my money on hold.
    Will the money be returned to my payoneer account and when?

    Hi, if the transaction was not successful the funds should return to you within the next 10 working days.
