Is paying a 'Shipment fee' to clear incoming funds in my account legitimate?

I received a payment confirmation email from payoneer, from someone buying goods from me. But the email says the funds will only clear once I have paid a shipment fee at local store shoprite and sent proof of payment. Is that normal? It seems fishy

    Hi there @Geraldmagnet

You are correct, this is fishy. We will not ask you to pay a 'Shipment fee' for funds. You can always contact customer care and we can confirm if we have sent the email. If you don't wish to contact customer care a quick tip to check if the email is from us is to check the email formula.. emails come from an email that looks like [email protected]. All other emails will not be from us. We only use our secure chats, phones, emails that match the above formula and verified social media platforms (and this forum) to provide help and information.

For future reference: the only shipment fee would be on a card and that would be charged directly from your Payoneer account.

Please do not pay the shipment fee for this payment as this request did not come from us.
