two-step verification

is two-step verification mandatory or optional to us? just receive an email now. but I don't know if it is mandatory or not. it's about verification code that we receive via text message as another password.

    All users will be migrated over to two-step but it will be possible to disable the service.

    Okay, I wanna disable this feature cuz I've used this feature on facebook for 1 year but disabled due to long delays in message despite each and everything I've added correctly and I was locked, even my parents faced the same. That's why I wanna disable this feature. Thanks.
